Your Role on the Team

Under the general direction of the Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development is a fundraising professional who works collaboratively with the Director of Development and University Advancement colleagues to lead targeted campaign development programs and secure philanthropic support for the School of Medicine with a goal of raising $1 million annually in annual and leadership gifts. The scope of responsibilities includes qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of new and existing donors, donor engagement, meeting metrics, development and coordination of fundraising programs, stewardship, and organizing class gift campaigns. The incumbent engages with confidential and sensitive information related to donor relations, annual and major gift fundraising, and public relations.

What It Takes to be Successful

Total CompensationThe expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,400- $90,000 (Annual).

Required:

Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships.Strong skills in maintaining confidentiality.Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, including skills in creative and effective decision-making and problem identification/avoidance/resolution.Understanding of academic, research and education functions of a major research university.Thorough working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts.Strong knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.A minimum of three years of successful fundraising experience in a complex development program, preferably in a health-related field.

Preferred:Working knowledge of Salesforce or comparable donor/prospect database system.Experience working in a capital campaign.Successful experience working with volunteers and university administrators.

Special Conditions:May work occasional evenings and weekends.May be required to drive on occasion to perform essential job responsibilities.
