We currently have an opening for Principal Project Manager in
Long Beach, CA . The qualified candidate will manage, direct, and oversee Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects and provide staff augmentation services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage multiple Capital Improvement projects from design to construction completion. Responsible for streamlining project delivery and reporting on each project to ensure they stay on time and on budget. Responsible for transportation planning, project management, and delivery of complete streets and corridor projects, focus will be on larger transportation corridors and special projects. Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFP) for professional services and negotiate contracts for design and construction management. Conducting gap funding analysis, prioritizing grant pursuits and once procured, manage, report on, and close out the grants. Coordinate with utility companies, other agencies, and act as City's representative. Prepare the necessary staff reports and budget document. Provide timely reviews of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E). Coordinate evaluation of bids submitted by contractors. Prepare City Council staff report for award of construction contract. Provide general oversight of contract administration during project construction. Coordinate project closeout activities, including as-builts, staff report, Notice of Completion, and release of retention. Job Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required. A minimum of 10 years' experience in project management and municipal engineering services.
