Opportunity Summary

We are a locally-based Retirement Plan Consulting and Wealth Management firm in Portland, dedicated to providing expert services to corporate retirement plans and individuals since 1997. We are looking for a genuine, experienced Retirement Plan Client Service Manager to join our collaborative team.

In this role, you will work closely with our consultants and advisors, managing key relationships with vendors and third-party administrators, while ensuring the highest level of client service. A strong understanding of complex retirement plans, attention to detail, and commitment to process improvement is essential.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retirement Plan Client Service Manager is a member of a team responsible for providing retirement plan consulting services to over 100 corporate retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, and non-qualified plans. This position will be responsible for working closely with the retirement plan consulting team to deliver superior client service to our retirement plan clients and be involved in the production of a diverse range of client reports and research supporting the consultants, advisors, and investment committee.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of complex retirement plans, the ability to review and understand plan documents, and be able to evaluate and recommend plan design options. As an integral part of the retirement plan consulting team, the Retirement Plan Client Service Manager will be the primary contact for key relationships with record keeping firms, third-party administrators, ERISA attorneys, and other strategic partnerships.

A robust focus on process improvement, accounting knowledge, accuracy, flexibility, a strong commitment to client service, and the ability to develop multiple working relationships with internal and external parties at all levels, are essential role attributes.

Responsibilities:

Create, maintain and update benefit plan administration procedures and processes.

Confirm that all retirement benefit plans are administered in accordance with the plan documents.

Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Work with third-party administrators, legal counsel and consultants to resolve any plan administration issues.

Respond to plan administration questions and discuss plan features with clients and internal staff.

Stay current on relevant regulatory and legislative changes that may impact plans (e.g. ERISA, DOL, IRS).

Run corporate client reports quarterly.

Review reports for accuracy and make corrections as needed.

Work with consultants and advisors to ensure that reports are provided timely for client meetings.

Coordinate the production of reports for client meetings: printing, saving to i-pads, etc.

Provide due diligence reports on all currently utilized mutual funds and work with Investment Committee to provide commentary and recommendations for reporting.

Special projects for consulting team as needed.

Potential to travel for in-person meetings.

Ability to assist with meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar program or experience.

5 - 7 years of experience working with retirement plans in recordkeeping, administration or as an ERISA attorney.

Strong mathematical aptitude, specifically in financial reconciliation and data analysis.

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills.

Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

Ability to provide attentive customer service.

Ability to work in a team or independently.

Flexibility in adapting to scheduling and work-flow changes.

Ability to prioritize based on competing initiatives and meet both daily and periodic deadlines.

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
