Success factors for this role include day-to-day activities related to the screening and evaluation of all potential organ, eye, and tissue donation. This includes collaboration with the team that provides triaging of organ/tissue referrals, staffing for current and potential donation opportunities, coordinating logistics involved with the donation process and collaborating with the hospital healthcare team to optimize each potential donor.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Perform at a supervisory role to assigned team members, including:Root-cause analysis and corrective action plans related to department functions.Conduct employee appraisal, performance improvement plans, and corrective action plans under the direction of the Manager.Approve employee timesheets, expense reports and PTO requests in accordance with STA guidelines and policy.Monitor and enter department metrics into appropriate tracking sheets to provide feedback to assigned team members on individual and departmental performance.Meet with assigned team members monthly, at minimum, to discuss individual performance and performance as related to specific department metrics.Perform or oversee and provide clear direction to others related to all expected duties of staff.Actively monitor referral activity, providing input for optimal strategies.Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation in EDR for referrals and department related case activity.Ensure proper documentation of training.Assist People Services and Education and Development Departments in recruiting, interviewing, and training clinical staff.Ensure adequate staffing for intake and vestibule.Oversee communication related to tissue donor referrals to external partners.Take rotational shift as intake coordinators as staffing dictates.Perform other duties as assigned.Compliance:OSHA CATEGORY DEFINITION: Category 1 - The incumbent in this position has the potential of occupational exposure. The incumbent will have access to confidential material and is required to use discretion with this information and comply with STA Confidentiality policy.Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:Associates of Science degree preferred. Current Texas credential as a EMT-B or LVN, or completion of an accredited clinical healthcare program resulting in a certification, registry, licensure or equivalent work experience.Minimum 2 years’ experience in clinical call center, or equivalent clinical or family experience preferred.Prior experience as a preceptor in a clinical setting.Qualifications and Skills:Proficient knowledge in evaluating potential tissue donors in accordance with STA, AATB, and processor medical criteria, to provide tissue which is safe for transplantation.Proficient knowledge in evaluating potential organ donors in accordance with STA and OTPN to provide tissue, which is safe for transplantation.Must have the ability to provide clear written and oral instruction related to complex processes, communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, and to represent the organization publicly.Knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint application.Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities.
