The Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute's (HHRI) Behavioral Health Equity Research group invites applications for a Project Manager to support the clinical research being conducted by Drs. Sandra Japuntich, LP and Andrew Busch, LP at Hennepin Healthcare's HCMC.

This is a hybrid role requiring a regular onsite presence in downtown Minneapolis, MN.The Behavioral Health Equity Research group is embedded in Hennepin Healthcare and works to develop and test behavioral interventions to improve health and health behaviors such as smoking, cardiovascular disease, HIV, cancer screening, and more. We test treatments that are integrated into medical settings such as hospitals, outpatient psychiatric clinics, and dental clinics.HHRI is the third largest medical research non-profit in Minnesota and ranks in the top seven percent nationally of all institutions receiving research grants from the National Institutes of Health. At the HHRI, we have been actively investigating the causes of and potential treatments for diseases since 1952. We support and oversee the medical research conducted at Hennepin Healthcare. In an academic environment that emphasizes patient care, research, and teaching, HHRI helps offer patients better care now and hope for improved healthcare in the future.Hennepin Healthcare's flagship campus is Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), a 484 bed public teaching hospital located in downtown Minneapolis, MN. HCMC employs approximately 7,000 people and is Minnesota's largest safety net hospital. HCMC conducts approximately 600,000 clinic visits annually and is the state's premier Level 1 Trauma Center. The majority of HCMC patients are of minority racial and/or ethnic backgrounds.Essential Job Functions

Provides project management support and guidance for the department assigned in all aspects of the project management lifecycle from initiation to closing to ensure the study goals and objectives are realized.Manages/motivates/coordinates and leads project team in supporting the contracts the department maintains with sponsors.Works closely with the Principal Investigators in helping to determine workload priorities related to meeting sponsor requirements and organizational goals.Participates in sponsor interactions related to tracking project work.Works with physicians/investigators in the performance of research supporting contract deliverables.Plans project through developing a work breakdown structure, defining and refining tasks, milestones, deliverables, resource assignments, and estimates, and developing contingency plans.Assists in site selection as well as design and implementation of site training needs.Executes project plan including scope management, project communications, time management, budget tracking, project resource management, issue management and risk management.Designs and writes reports summarizing project status information regarding work performed for sponsors.Designs and maintains systems to track projects in terms of meeting milestones and deliverables.Closes projects with regard to deliverable reconciliation, project quality reviews and post implementation reviews, and project archiving.Assists in the implementation of processes in line with Project Management Best Practices and Standard.Records relevant project discussions.Education/Experience

Any combination of equivalent education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would include Master's degree in public health, business, life sciences, or health services research is preferred, as is 2-5 years of related experience with NIH funding and multi institution collaborations. Experience in managing projects in any setting will be considered.Skill, Knowledge & Ability (SKA)

Requires interaction with a diverse population. Must have detailed knowledge of all aspects of project management. Must be familiar with medical terminology and medical research regulation. Advanced skills in computing related to project management tools in workstation and larger computing systems. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and be flexible. Must have good problem solving skills and ability to work effectively in a small team programming environment. Must be a good listener and have strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.
