Harold Washington College
is a student-centered institution that empowers all members of its community through accessible and affordable academic advancement, career development and personal enrichment. We are actively seeking a Student Ambassador to join our team. The ideal Ambassador will be detail-orientated, a quick learner, have solid time management and leadership skills and have the ability to be flexible. This position requires the ability to speak to new and returning students about the Harold Washington College experience.Duties and Responsibilities:Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Student Ambassador acts as the CCC student representative to prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and the public.Provides quality customer service to prospective students through campus tours or other visits.Helps guide prospective students in choosing to attend City Colleges of Chicago.Answers questions that students may have about student life at one of the City Colleges of Chicago.Provides information about the re-admission, withdrawal and other academic transactions.Provides information to prospective students and sometimes other students about extracurricular activities.Participates in on-campus College recruiting activities.Copies materials used for recruiting activities, admissions, registration and orientation.Sets a positive/supportive introduction to the college for new and returning students.Attends training sessions as required.Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Service Excellence Standards.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at the City Colleges of Chicago.Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago.Commits to satisfying internal and external customers.Promotes a positive role model and favorable public image as City Colleges of Chicago representative.Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and demonstrably self-motivated.Prior experience in public relations is helpful, but not required.Eligibility Requirements:Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and eligible to work in the United States.Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago.Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours pre-credit or credit classes.Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate.Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students).Applicants must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions.Applicants must not be current Full or Part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago.All positions are “employment at-will.”Equal Opportunity Employment:The City Colleges of Chicago is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
