Job Summary:

Under the guidance of UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCD CCC) Executive Director of the Office of Population Health (OPH) and supervision of the OPH Grants & Contracts Manager, the incumbent will provide the full spectrum of business operations support/oversight. The incumbent will be responsible for the direct supervision of the OPH administration/operations team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of business operations and process analyses related to financial administration, pre/post awards, program/business operations and human resources. He/She/They will present recommendations on business strategy and the management of the current portfolio to ensure the organization achieves its business objectives and financial goals. Responsibilities include management of intramural and extramural funds, contracts and endowments, strategic budget planning and analysis, reporting and implementation, administrative and human resources management, compliance and equipment inventory. This position requires an in-depth working knowledge of university, campus and UCDH (as well as outside agencies), fiscal and accounting practices, policies and procedures, UCDH personnel management and strategic planning, and the ability to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience developing complex budgets with various funding sources, establishing internal controls and financial analysis, forecasting and strategic planning to analyze and compile financial data and reports.

Supervisory and/or leadership experience to recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, resolve problems and conflicts and build an effective service-oriented team environment.

Experience in the principles and practice of business management to effectively and ethically manage and oversee operation resources.

Experience analyzing complex information in order to establish priorities, select appropriate courses of action, resolve conflicts, and make high quality decisions.

Demonstrated strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the State of California Contracting and Procurement Processes, UC Grants, Contracts, Budget and Accounting regulations and guidelines.

Solid working knowledge of university level personnel/payroll and purchasing policies and procedures.

Advanced level skills utilizing Aggie Enterprise, Cognos, UC Path, Job Builder, Kauli, DaFIS, PeopleAdmin, EcoTime and Decision Support.

Department Overview:

The UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC) supports multidisciplinary cancer research and care. The UCDCCC Office of Population Health (OPH) facilitates and disseminates impactful research on cancer determinants and outcomes for the UCDCCC catchment population with a focus on health equity to improve cancer prevention, screening, treatment, and survivorship.
