Location: Houston, TXReports to: ControllerPOSITION SUMMARY:The Operations Accounting Analyst coordinates the monthly close process with other team members ensuring the operating results of assigned departments are aligned with the Risk Department.RESPONSIBILITIES:Reconcile monthly data transfer between Solomon and RightAngle, ensuring reconciliation between Risk and Accounting.Ensure proper communication of the monthly results to Commercial Teams and provide detailed analysis, when necessary, to ensure understanding of results by stakeholders.Implement changes to simplify the monthly closing process driving efficiency across the group.Assist with accounting month-end close tasks (i.e. journal entries, audit preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and compliance reporting).Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting in support of various business opportunities.Drive standardization of processes across the accounting team by utilizing RightAngle core functionality.Identify and develop Key Performance Indicators to monitor and report on during monthly financial review meetings.Assist with balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.Establish strong relationships with key functional stakeholders including credit risk, finance, and IT, instilling confidence by demonstrating credibility and expertise on business and technical issues.Perform other duties as requested or assigned.COMPETENCIES:Tauber wants to create and reward an organizational focus that stimulates the creative and entrepreneurial actions of its employees that result in innovative ways of generating revenues, improving productivity, and/or improving processes.QUALIFICATIONS:1-3 years of accounting month-end closing experience.1-3 years industry experience gained in accounting or finance from an energy trading environment is highly desirable, but not required.EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required.Additional Skills, Attributes and Abilities:Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, particularly with pivot tables.Solomon Accounting Software (a plus)ETRM system experience in RightAngle (a plus)Maximum attention to detail with ability to consistently provide accurate and timely work product.Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Self-motivated with a pro-active approach.Ability to interact with all levels of colleagues and management team.Tauber Oil Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Females, Minorities, Veterans, and Disabled#J-18808-Ljbffr
