is looking to hire a

UI/UX Design Consultant

for a large shipping company in the

Houston, TX, area . The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in UI/UX design. This role is hybrid, but would consider remote for the right candidate.

Creating wireframes: Creating low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups that show the structure and layout of product screensPrototyping: Creating prototypes to visualize designs before developmentDesigning graphic elements: Creating menus, tabs, and other UI elements

JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities and DutiesCreating wireframes: Creating low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups that show the structure and layout of product screensPrototyping: Creating prototypes to visualize designs before developmentDesigning graphic elements: Creating menus, tabs, and other UI elementsDeveloping navigation components: Building navigation for the productIllustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemapsGather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and business SMEsPrepare and present draft to internal teams and key stakeholdersAdjust designs based on user feedback and maturity of value deliveryIdentify and troubleshoot UX problems and pain points (e.g., responsiveness, friction, hidden value)Required Skills and ExperienceProven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (5+ years)Expert level experience with design and wireframe tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, etc.)Portfolio of design projectsStrong communication and presentation skillsLeverage active listening skills and client empathy to affect design ideas and product improvementsTeam player who thrives in matrixed organizations and with various stakeholders at all levelsGood time management and organizational skillsBachelor's degree in technology related field (e.g., Graphic Design, Product Design, Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, etc.) or equivalent experiencePreferred Skills and QualificationsExperience in using Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery)Foundational knowledge of Product Development and ManagementExperience in Agile Development (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)Certifications: Certified Professional in User Interface Design (CPUX-UID), Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), Certified User Experience Analyst (CXA), Adobe Certified Professional, Figma UI/UX Design Essentials
