Location: Mobile, AlabamaMajor Function:
Ensures services offered to birthparents, prospective adoptive couples, and adult adopter searchers are professional, caring, and in compliance with Alabama Law. Oversight of staff and programming at Archdiocesan pregnancy/parenting resource centers in Mobile and Robertsdale.Qualifications:
Alabama Licensed Graduate Social Worker with a minimum of two years full-time paid employment in family and children's services, including experience in child placing. Must have a valid driver's license and insured automobile to be used for business purposes. Must be able to work flexible hours and work occasional evenings and weekends. Candidates must successfully complete Mandatory Child Protection Training and all background checks.Position:
Full time; exempt from overtimeReport to:
Executive DirectorJob Responsibilities:Keeps current with pregnancy and adoption service trends and legal developments.Directly administers and supervises the domestic adoption components of the program.Completes home studies for prospective adoptive parents.Responsible for designating or performing adult adopter search activities.Keeps current with professional development requirements and ensures the same for staff.Responsible for performing on-call/after hours' duties.Assists birthparents exploring adoptive placement to develop and implement a permanent plan for their child.Hires, trains, and supervises Archdiocesan pregnancy resource staff.Oversees operations and programming for pregnancy/parenting resource centers.Builds community partnerships with physicians, clinics, and hospitals.
