EMPLOYMENT TERMS:

Full-time, 12-month positionPRIMARY DUTY:

The Assistant Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life directs all aspects of Fraternity & Sorority Life. The Assistant Director will support programming of the Office of Student Involvement and contributes to the successful development and implementation of strategic Student Affairs initiatives. The Assistant Director will be the key leader and resource in uplifting Fraternity & Sorority Life at Northwest.This position will implement a Fraternity & Sorority Life Vision that requires a positive environment in Fraternity & Sorority Life at Northwest.This will be accomplished by developing students as chapter leaders and creating an accountable environment to support our students.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Oversee all aspects of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community including:oBasic administrative duties

oBudget management

oProgram planning and evaluation

oSupervise all aspects of fraternity and sorority recruitment/intake for each council

oConduct enforcement

oMembership development

oMarketing/promotions for prospective and current students

oAlignment to Strategic Goals and Fraternity & Sorority Life Visioning Plan

Serve as liaison to and first point of contact for the University and chapter advisors, alumni, and (Inter) National Headquarters Staff.Advise Panhellenic Council and National Pan-Hellenic CouncilPlan and facilitate Fraternity & Sorority leader retreats and workshops with topics such as values-based action, chapter leadership development, recruitment, retention and risk management.Maintain Fraternity & Sorority Life records pertaining to academics, membership, community service, officer and advisor information, and correspondence with chapter presidents.Supervise and evaluate Fraternity & Sorority Life staff, including Fraternity & Sorority Life Coordinator.Interpret, disseminate, and monitor Fraternity & Sorority organization compliance with university and council policies. Assure compliance with university standards and policies.Create and maintain an ongoing assessment plan to measure student-learning outcomes as well as to ensure institutional effectiveness and relevance of programmatic efforts.Enforce and maintain ongoing coordination of strategic action items within Fraternity & Sorority Life Strategic Plan, including ongoing assessment of effectiveness of action items.Implement, monitor, assess and publish the Fraternity & Sorority Community Report/Standards of Excellence.Collaborate with Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) to program and support efforts to promote National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations.Support GAMMA through partnership with Wellness Services Staff.Collaborate with other Student Affairs areas and University departments as needed to develop and sustain effective professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others.Direct continuous quality improvement efforts for all programs/units under their supervision (includes strategic planning and evaluation/assessment).Serve on University committees, teams, and task forces as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.Experience: Two to three years of Fraternity & Sorority Life professional experience.Skills: Basic event planning, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, effective communication, advising, team building, and problem solving skills; as well as demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and innovation.WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position works in an air-conditioned office in a newly renovated facility. Also requires work in a variety of University settings, including activities outdoors.Some evenings and weekend will be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position supervises one full time employee and assists in the supervision of student workers and interns.EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED:
