Position SummaryThe Program Assistant provides essential administrative and logistical support to the Youth & Education program, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Indigenous culture through education. This role involves a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and a dedication to supporting the organization's mission.Preference will be given to Alaska Natives and/or American Indian applicants.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and responding to inquiries.Assist in program planning and implementation, including event coordination and logistics.Support program staff in data collection, entry, and analysis.Prepare and distribute program materials, such as handouts, presentations, and reports.Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records and files.Assist with grant-related tasks, including research and report preparation.Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive relationships with Indigenous communities and partners.Participate in cultural activities and events to deepen understanding of Indigenous cultures.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Tasks).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Interest in and respect for Indigenous cultures.Position will be exposed to multiple allergens including cedar and wool (sheep and mountain goat).Must be willing to travel to local and regional events via plane, car, ferry, etc. as needed.Needs a valid AK driver's license.Desired Qualifications:Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization.Experience with database management systems.Knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices.Knowledge of Lingít preferred.The pay rate for this position is $23.08 Per Hour + DOE.
