Media Information Environment (IE) Planner

to join our growing team of diverse professionals in

Suffolk, Virginia . The position may also be filled at the principal level. As a key member of the Joint Staff Support Team (JST) you will conduct information environment planning and prepare media and other publicly available information for Joint Staff J7 military training exercises and events. You will perform your duties throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) in coordination with supported military customers and JST leads.Responsibilities:Development of broadcast or print news media, social media, and other forms of digital content to enhance the understanding of exercise scenario events and the operational environment during joint and combined training events.Assist with the coordination and design of exercise websites. Attend exercise planning conferences and assist exercise designers with the development of scenario events to support exercise training objectives.Work in close coordination with Joint Event Support Teams (JEST), event planners, and other functional sections including Operational Environment, Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), Intelligence, Information Operations, Cyber Operations, Interagency, and Simulations Operations to oversee synchronization of scenario execution and the production of traditional media, social media, and other publicly available information.Also responsible for event support schedules and overseeing completion of contract deliverables.Basic Qualifications for Military Trainer - Media Information Environment Planner:One of the following:High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of professional leadership experienceBachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional leadership experienceMaster's degree with a minimum of 1 year of professional leadership experience3 years' experience as a TV or print news journalist, information analyst, or Public Information / Public Affairs SpecialistMust be willing and able to travel both CONUS and OCONUS as needed (up to 25% of the time)Must possess an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearanceMust possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. PassportMust be able to work on-site in Suffolk, VirginiaPreferred Qualifications for Military Trainer - Media Information Environment Planner:Joint Staff J7 Exercise/Event ExperienceThis position may also be filled at the Principal level per the requirements below.Basic Qualifications for Principal Military Trainer - Media Information Environment Planner:One of the following:High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experienceBachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experienceMaster's degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional leadership experience5 years' experience as a TV or print news journalist, information analyst, or Public Information / Public Affairs SpecialistMust be willing and able to travel both CONUS and OCONUS as needed (up to 25% of the time)Must possess an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearanceMust possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. PassportMust be able to work on-site in Suffolk, VirginiaPreferred Qualifications for Principal Military Trainer - Media Information Environment Planner:Joint Staff J7 Exercise/Event ExperienceMasters/post-graduate degreeSalary Range:

$59,600 - $89,400Salary Range 2:

$73,300 - $109,900The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
