PROJECT MANAGER, School of Social Work, AdministrationTracking Code: 24500539320816As one of the nation's top schools of social work, Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education, research, and evidence-based practice to advance social justice and to solve the most pressing societal problems of the 21st century.The BUSSW and Center for Innovation in Social Work (CISWH) currently invite applications for a Project Manager (PM) to coordinate and manage a five-year NIH funded study conducted at the CISWH and Boston Medical Center. Study goals are to train community health workers to deliver behavioral counseling in a primary care setting to reduce substance use and to improve mental health in Spanish and in English.The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day study operations of this hybrid study which combines a randomized effectiveness trial with a study of implementation feasibility, across different sites. There is travel required within the state. Tasks will include:Overseeing randomizationHelping to secure the integrity and confidentiality of the patient dataManaging the export of data to RECAPWriting and managing reports to the BU IRB, NIH, and to the Data Safety Monitoring BoardSupervising research assistant activities related to screening, recruitment, and scheduling of baseline assessments and follow-upsAssisting the PI with trainingOverseeing and coordinating the process evaluation of implementation at the BMCAssisting with qualitative researchSupervising participant compensationOverseeing data management issues to ensure all subjects are tracked and all data are prepared and entered for statistical analysisConducting preliminary statistical analysis of dataParticipating in weekly scientific meetings with the P.I. and research team for project development and planning at BMCCoordinating meetings of the DSMBParticipating in the preparation of conference presentations and manuscripts with opportunities for co-authorshipAssisting with preparation of study budgets for reporting and grant preparation and with the preparation of grant applicationsRequired Skills:BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent related experience3-5 years of research study management3-5 years of direct experience with clinical trials research on substance use or mental health preferredAbility to travel between sitesSkills at using SPSS/STATA and Redcap or in qualitative analysis software preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, natural or protective hairstyle, religion, sex, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military service, pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition, or because of marital, parental, or veteran status.
