A Freight Forwarder Assistant is responsible for providing support to the freight forwarding team, including assisting with documentation, data entry, customer service, and general administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation and processing of shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing listsEnter shipment data into computer systems and ensure accurate record-keepingCommunicate with customers, carriers, and other third-party service providers to coordinate and track shipmentsProvide administrative support to the freight forwarding team, including answering phones, responding to emails, and filing documentsAssist with billing and invoicing processesEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
Educational background / Work experiencePrior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferredExperience in air exports is highly desirable
SkillsMathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates
Other SkillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

For this position, the expected base pay is:
$20.75 - $27.75 / Hourly.
Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
