Part-Time Extended Learning Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Part-Time Extended Learning Coordinator will assist in the implementation and management of out-of-school time (OST) programs in collaboration with school staff, community partners, students, and families. The role focuses on providing services that support academic achievement and overall student well-being. The coordinator ensures programs are responsive to student and family needs and adhere to best practices in youth development, while meeting grant and organizational requirements.

Status:

Part-time, Non-Exempt, 20-25 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

Program Support:

Assist in the design and management of OST programs that provide academic support, enrichment activities, and family engagement opportunities. Ensure that programs foster a culturally inclusive environment where all students feel supported and valued.

Community Engagement:

Serve as a point of contact for students, families, and community partners, ensuring that OST programs address community needs. Help maintain relationships with local organizations and service providers to enhance available resources.

Data Collection & Program Evaluation:

Support the collection and analysis of data on student participation and program outcomes. Assist in using data to drive program improvements and address barriers to student success.

School Coordination:

Work with school leadership to ensure OST programs align with school goals and integrate with academic efforts. Participate in meetings with school staff to align OST activities with classroom learning.

Family Engagement:

Help develop strategies to engage families in the OST programs through regular communication and events. Assist families in connecting with resources to support student learning outside of school.

Resource Management:

Help manage program budgets and resources, ensuring they are used efficiently and in compliance with grant requirements. Support the organization and maintenance of facilities used for OST activities.

Staff Support:

Assist in recruiting, training, and supporting OST staff to ensure high-quality programming. Help with staff development, particularly in youth development and family engagement best practices.

Compliance & Reporting:

Ensure programs adhere to relevant guidelines from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and Family League of Baltimore (FLB), as well as organizational policies. Assist in preparing required reports for MSDE and FLB, highlighting program successes and outcomes. Attend grant-related meetings, staff meetings, conferences, and other mandatory network meetings to remain informed of program requirements and expectations.

Continuous Improvement:

Assist in evaluating and improving OST programs based on feedback from students, families, and staff. Stay informed of emerging trends in youth development and OST programming.

Other Duties as Assigned:

Support other program-related tasks as necessary, adapting to program needs.

Qualifications:

Associate's or bachelor's degree in education, youth development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

At least two (2) years of experience in program coordination in educational or community-based settings.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a part-time schedule.

Proficiency in data collection and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.

Work Schedule:

20-25 hours per week, with some flexibility for occasional evening or weekend activities as required by the program.

Compensation:

$26/hour
