Director of Professional Practice & Chief Practice Information Officer (CPIO)

is a strategic leadership role facilitating collaboration between clinicians, the broader health professional community, and information systems/information technology.This role provides an opportunity for the successful incumbent to:Establish/sustain a professional practice and collaborative learning environment that supports and advances evidence-based practice.Bring a comprehensive understanding of healthcare issues, trends, and technology; and advise the strategic planning and management of professional practice.Set a collaborative tone as you coordinate the talents of a highly committed and skilled team of Professional Practice staff.Provide leadership in the planning, delivery, and optimization of information systems used in the clinical environment.Here's what you will get to do:Lead the integration of evidence-based practice into clinical workflows through the effective use of digital tools.Support clinical teams and leaders in advancing knowledge translation and professional development.Assess the clinical learning needs for the organization and create a strategy to advance professional practice.Provide strategic leadership in the development of a comprehensive nursing strategy.Ensure maintenance of current relevant clinical competencies.Combine knowledge of patient care and informatics concepts to address the information needs of healthcare professionals.Provide clinical leadership in the adoption and optimization of digital health tools.Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure digital health strategies are aligned with clinical workflows.Lead clinical informatics strategies in collaboration with the ICT Team.Work with clinical operational leaders to evaluate technology effectiveness.Promote Halton Healthcare as a leader in health care through presentations and publications.Here's what you will need to be successful:Master’s degree in a regulated Health Profession.Member in good standing of a Regulated Health Profession (required).Minimum 7-10 years’ clinical experience (required).Five (5) years of increasingly responsible leadership experience in a complex health system environment (required).Working knowledge of Regulated Health Professions Act and related healthcare legislation.Good understanding of hospital operations and inter-relationships between departments.Experience implementing digital health technologies is considered an asset.Demonstrated abilities in critical thinking, change management, communication, and collaboration.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proven problem-solving and organizational skills.Strong attention to detail and efficient time management skills.Evidence of knowledge exchange and new knowledge development.Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Halton Healthcare’s values – Compassion; Accountability; and Respect.*You will be required to work at all Halton Healthcare sitesHours:
