Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee disaster recovery projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all project objectives are met within scope, time, and budget.

Develop comprehensive disaster recovery strategies, plans, and procedures to prepare for and mitigate the effects of various disaster scenarios.

Manage cross-functional teams, including internal staff, contractors, and external partners, ensuring clear communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and tailor disaster recovery plans to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions to enhance organizational resilience.

Oversee the development and execution of disaster recovery tests and simulations to ensure plans are effective and adaptable to changing conditions.

Provide leadership in identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks and challenges.

Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations for senior management, clients, and stakeholders, highlighting project progress, issues, and recommended actions.

Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices.

Facilitate after-action reviews and lessons learned to improve disaster recovery processes continuously.

Required Qualifications:

Should have a Master’s or Bachelor's in Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Public Administration, or a related field.

Must have 10+ years of experience in disaster recovery, emergency management, or business continuity planning, with at least five years in a leadership or project management role.

Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale disaster recovery projects for federal, state, or local government agencies or within the private sector.

Extensive knowledge of disaster recovery frameworks, emergency management best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FEMA guidelines, DHS frameworks).

Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project) and data analysis software.

Experience conducting disaster recovery exercises, drills, and tests.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt plans to changing circumstances.

PMP certification is a plus.
