This role will meet with individuals and families to provide brief behavioral psychotherapy services to patients and consultations to primary care providers using an integrated care model.
This is a hybrid position.This position is eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus!ResponsibilitiesProvides short term targeted psychotherapy for problems identified by primary care providersPerforms initial and ongoing behavioral health assessments to develop patient care plansEvaluates patients to identify social, emotional, and economic factors which may interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical careProvides brief psychotherapy to patients and familiesAddresses co-occurring disorders in the patient’s care planResponds promptly and with caring actions to patients and employeesProvides crisis management and psychoeducation for patients and familiesConducts “warm hand offs” at medical provider requestsAcknowledges and honors patients’ psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural beliefsUtilizes BHC staff protocols for referral, follow-up, and quality assuranceProvider & Team SupportConsults with primary care providers about behavioral aspects of their patients’ medical treatmentContributes to the success of the organization by participating in quality improvement activitiesMaintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the publicCooperates in accomplishing department goals and objectivesParticipates in case conferences, trainings, and departmental or agency meetings, as directedRegulatory ComplianceFollows BHC protocols, policies, and proceduresProvides personal information and participates in the credentialing process with managed care companiesAttends continuing education programs offered to upgrade professional skills and maintain licensing requirementsDocuments legible and legally defensible medical recordsQualificationsEducation/ExperienceEducation
Doctorate degree in psychology with a valid CA Psychology License, orMaster’s degree in social work with a valid CA LCSW License, orMaster’s degree in marriage and family therapy with a valid CA LMFT License, orMaster’s in counseling with a valid CA LPCC License
Valid BLS certification from an approved American Health Association provider required upon hireTwo years of pre/post licensure psychotherapy experience with children, adults, and/or adolescents required; child/adolescent experience requiredExperience providing health psychotherapy services, such as smoking cessation, weight management, stress management, or work with chronically medically ill patientsAdditional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Knowledgeable about and experienced in displaying normal signs of human development and ability to assess and provide age-appropriate careAbility to work well in an interdisciplinary team within medical careAbility to operate word-processing, spreadsheet, and/or electronic medical records systemsAbility to do some charting simultaneously while in sessionExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing, legible handwriting, and proofreading skillsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent planning and organizational abilityAbility to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift/carry 10 lbsAbility to stand for long periods of timeSalary RangesPsychologist: $118,560-$157,040 per year, depending on experience.LCSW/LPCC: $84,760-$102,960 per year, depending on experience.LMFT: $84,240-$101,400 per year, depending on experience.This position is eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus!
