is seeking a Cornea Ophthalmologist to join our growing network of physicians!Norfolk, VA - Coastal, VA:

This is a cornea opportunity to join a world-class specialty eye care group along the East coast in a vibrant, modern port city. This growing practice is celebrating 60 years of providing first-rate referral eye care and enjoys a sterling reputation both nationally and internationally in surgery and research. A very high volume of surgical cases are offered for the incoming physician, primarily cornea and cataract surgeries. Initial surgical volume includes 100 grafts (mix of PKP and DSEK/DMEK), 1-3 ulcers per week, significant external disease, second opinions, ocular surface disease, uveitis, secondary glaucoma, and a number of anterior segment reconstructions each month. In addition to 600 cataracts per year, about a third being complex. Corneal refractive surgeons are welcomed. The team consists of 17 MDs covering all adult sub-specialties, 7 ODs, and 2 PAs with a need for a cornea specialist. The new addition will walk into a busy practice, both in terms of patients and surgery, with a high volume of pathology. Strong external and internal referral network; state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment; coupled with a world-class experienced staff of professionals to work alongside you. Industry-leading 5-room ophthalmic-only ASC where you will perform the majority of your surgical cases. The practice also features a full-time clinical research department which provides extensive opportunities for those interested in research. Additionally, the group has a strong teaching affiliation with the local Medical School Ophthalmology residency program and encourages affiliation and involvement.
