Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Manager will work with support departments to understand needs and help identify tools for consolidating, analyzing, and providing access to data to help users make better business decisions. This position will look to produce actionable information, viewing data as a strategic asset for the corporation. Working closely with operations and all support teams, this position will deliver data-driven solutions to identify new business opportunities using artificial intelligence (A.I.) and data analysis resulting in increased NOI and operational performance. This position will work to connect siloed infrastructures to enhance data sharing across the company. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is able to multi-task, manage multiple projects and requests in a fast-paced environment, and work with minimal supervision.

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience: business intelligence, data analytics, Microsoft Fabric (including Power BI), SQL, database architecture, data visualization, reporting writing, project management, data mining, modeling capabilities, as well as good written & oral communication skills. This candidate excels at critical thinking and possesses the ability to explain complex data concepts to business users. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

Design, develop, maintain, and support complex business intelligence and A.I. applications and solutions.

Utilize data mining techniques and develop data models to assist in the visualization and interpretation of data.

Expansion of current intelligence platform:

Maintain and build upon the current dashboards, reporting tools, and self-serve data tools.

Optimize data structures and efficiency.

Documentation of Camden’s data analytics and business intelligence for efficient “self-serve”.

Leverage Fabric A.I. functionality to increase enterprise access to data and expand data analytics/automation capabilities.

Coordinate with the Director of Business Intelligence to analyze business opportunities to aid the company in being proactive, instead of reactive, in order to minimize operational expenses (i.e., energy/utilities management, value of a customer, human capital).

Identify intelligence needs of each department through one-to-one communications with key employees; duties specific to this function may include the assessment of the following:

What decisions need to be made?

Why do these decisions need to be made?

When do these decisions need to be made?

Who will be using the intelligence to make the decisions?

Is the intelligence nice to know or need to know?

Perform ad-hoc data mining and data analysis as needed.

Participate in management meetings related to business intelligence strategy.

Work with the Director of Business Intelligence to implement the recommendations of intelligence reporting and management.

Manage team members as needed, providing coaching and development opportunities.

Collaborate closely with IT to develop and execute the company A.I. strategy.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent required.

Two years of experience in a Data Analytics or Business Intelligence role is required. Five years experience is preferred.

One-year supervisory experience.

SQL, Power BI programming is required.

Project management & MS Fabric experience is preferred.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to drive numerous projects simultaneously.

Exceptional critical thinking/problem-solving skills and the ability to make confident business decisions.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.

Multifamily housing industry is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Word, Excel & Outlook.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
