Position OverviewThe Ohio State University, Division of Human Genetics seeks a dynamic genetic counselor for a clinical excellence faculty position in the growing clinical care area of cancer genetics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge clinical care and research to understand and treat cancer, leveraging our state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative environment. In addition to clinical and research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring. The candidate will shape the next generation of genetic counselors through lectures, seminars, and clinical rotations. This position also includes opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, PhDs, and MDs, fostering a synergistic approach to cancer research and clinical care.

Performance ObjectivesClinical faculty members are dedicated to academic clinical practice, education, and translational research in adult genetic specialties. Our genetic counselor faculty collaborates closely with physicians and staff throughout our NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities include active participation in the provision of clinical genetic services in our cancer clinics; teaching genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows; working on translational cancer genetics research programs.

Requirements- Genetic Counseling Degree required

Faculty DefinedClinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical.

These faculty will have earned a doctor of medicine (MD), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field.

Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.
