Mercer Zimmerman is a leading Midwest lighting sales representative agency specializing in providing innovative lighting solutions to a diverse range of clients in the construction industry. We pride ourselves on our extensive product knowledge, exceptional customer service, and our commitment to delivering the best lighting and controls solutions in the market.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, strategic thinker with management experience. This role will be responsible for managing the quotations process within the territory, leading a quotations team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of quotes to clients, and supporting the MZ sales team with all aspects of the quotation lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have quoting/estimating experience in the lighting industry, exceptional communication skills, strong leadership and coaching skills, and a passion for collaboration.
What you will be doing...
Quotation Management
Prepare and manage detailed quotations for diverse lighting and lighting controls projects, ensuring the package complies with project specifications.
Work with our trade partners to provide a complete and competitive bid package.
Team Management
Lead, manage, and hold quotations team accountable for performance and meeting quarterly and annual objectives.
Mentor and train team and drive the established quotations process so it is executed consistently.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of all quotations and associated communications.
Prepare regular reports on quotation activity, win/loss ratios, and other key metrics for management review.
Who we are looking for...
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or lighting industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM software.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strategic mindset and naturally collaborative nature.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
Bonus Points for:
Strong understanding of lighting products, technologies, and market trends.
Experience with lighting design software.
Proven track record of successful project quotations.
