With a strong, diverse, and exciting backlog of municipal engineering assignments, RK&K is hiring a self-motivated and highly collaborative Project Manager, P.E. to lead a variety of municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects involving feasibility studies, engineering design, preparation of construction documents, and construction management. As a Project Manager in our
Water/Wastewater
group, you will have an opportunity to deliver complex and rewarding projects while marketing municipal clients in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Essential Function
Develop project deliverables including coordination of engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team environmentSolve complex problems, providing technical evaluation, and evaluate costs and benefits of alternative solutions for water/wastewater clientsMentor and develop less experienced/junior engineering professionals, establishing growth opportunities and building project delivery teamsManage a variety of existing and potential water/wastewater facility projectsManage and deliver world class results on municipal projects such as conveyance, sewage collection, stormwater management, water rehabilitation projects and much moreNegotiate and manage project scopes of work, schedules and budgets for water/wastewater projectsRoutinely utilize internal systems for project management, quality control, and quality assuranceInterface with clients, state and federal agencies and subconsultants to pursue, win and execute water/wastewater projectsIdentify and create project opportunities by networking with potential clients, including public and private utilities and related agenciesSupport office and firm leadership in marketing and pursuit of new work leads focusing primarily on water/wastewater municipal clients
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related engineering fieldProfessional Engineer's (P.E.) registration (preferably in the state of Virginia)Minimum twelve (12) years of relevant experience in consulting engineering in the municipal Water/Wastewater industry, with a progression of responsibility including project delivery and business developmentExisting municipal/private engineering client relationships and/or the ability to develop and nurture such relationshipsMotivated to find creative solutions to civil engineering problemsProficiency in communicating technical informationEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Preferred Skills and Experience
Advanced degree in civil or environmental engineering or related fieldProject Management Professional CertificationProficiency in AutoCAD, BIM
