Your JobThe Enterprise Senior Data Governance Advisor role provides support to local and enterprise governance resources by assisting with the creation and implementation of enterprise standards, creation of related controls to support business outcomes, applicable standards, and measures. This job is highly relational and will require communication, transparency, and collaboration at various levels of the organization.The role will help develop and install data governance principles and monitor the data governance and management capabilities at the segment level. Key to success in this role is the ability to build strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders, effectively work in matrixed teams through the completion of data management objectives, improve data literacy, and assure data quality standards are achieved.Our TeamThe Enterprise Data Governance Team is housed within the Data and Analytics division which reports ultimately to the Chief Financial Officer. The team is responsible for the overall data governance guidance for the Georgia Pacific organization.What You Will DoCreate and maintain relationships across the organization as well as peer companies.Participate in the creation and maintenance of Enterprise Governance Standards.Assist the business in the creation of supporting processes and procedures to ensure consistency in controls.Create appropriate KPIs to ensure governance and business goals/requirements are tracking as predicted.Challenge legacy processes, provide alternatives to activities that do not align with target state objectives.Document gaps in process, recommendations, and risk acceptance to provide a foundation for change and an artifact to governance observations.Interface with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, Development, Architecture, and other fundamental governance partners.Provide input to team strategy, roadmap, objectives and manage your tasks in the relevant tools to ensure transparency and workload management.Collaborate with local governance resources on a regular basis.Own and actively manage the activities of data governance across business segments and/or capabilities to ensure consistency in usage and application of appropriate policies and standards.Represent the data standards needs within projects and initiatives that will impact the data stream for which they are responsible.Maintain internal Data Governance processes which result in timely and accurate governance and management product creation, socialization, utilization, and maintenance.Conduct regular committee and council meetings with appropriate leaders to obtain program direction and directive concurrence and provide program status.Disposition input received from Stakeholders and key Compliance areas.Maintain any agreed-upon measures regarding the program, its maturity, and any external inputs such as data quality (KPIs and maturing KRIs).Train SMEs and Stewards in governance principles and related requirements impacting their business segments.Be the primary contact for all data governance and management issues for specific segments.Be primary on specific data governance and management products, for example, policies, standards, and enterprise procedures.Advanced experience in collaboration, facilitation, and reporting skills.Understand data profiling, modeling, transport, retention, protection, methods.2+ years' experience in process management.Advanced understanding of project management methodologies and tools.Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS SharePoint.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Demonstrated understanding of core data management and governance principles, including Metadata Management, Data Quality Management, Data Stewardship, Data Change Management, and Data Classification and Privacy. Experience in creating and maintaining enterprise-level policies and standards.Experience with governance program fundamentals such as charter creation, standards development, and enterprise procedure creation.
