If this excites you, come and join our team.GoNetspeed is looking for someone to do Quality Control for our Fiber to the Home project and all outside plant. This individual should know all aspects of the company’s specs and industry standards in the communication field. They should be familiar with all NESC codes and the Telcordia Bluebook rules and specs, as well as being self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision. Must have a minimum of 5 years in the construction of fiber optic outside plant or similar.Essential Job Functions:
Inspection of all new FFB work in progress to make sure it is being built to all necessary specs.Make sure all contractors know GNS, NESC, and Telcordia specs and are following them during the complete build process.Recognize all work being done incorrectly by contractors or in-house crews and redistribute it to them to make the necessary fixes and coach them if necessary.Create and maintain “Standard Operating Procedures” for processes within GNS.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects.Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.Be efficient with Microsoft 365 and all its processes.Conduct field checks for all contractors to ensure that crews adhere to established standards and safety requirements.May analyze plant operations and make recommendations for improvements to plant and equipment.Maintain and update all spreadsheets associated with tasks.Willingness to work over 40 hours per week to complete tasks if necessary.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of general office procedures.Knowledge of company products, procedures, and services.Skills in prioritizing and completing multiple projects.Skills in oral and written communication.Skills in identifying problems and resolutions found in outside plant.Proficient with Word, Excel & Microsoft Outlook.Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets in Excel.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to meet deadlines.Ability to adapt to frequent changes in job responsibilities.Ability to pay close attention to detail.Ability to effectively function as a team player.Ability to locate and correct discrepancies in maps and design.Ability to communicate with contractors, coworkers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Knowledge of telecommunications and maintenance requirements and regulations.Knowledge of Telcordia and NESC regulations.Knowledge of Fiber Optic equipment and network construction.Skills in reading maps and forms.Ability to support and defend management decisions.Ability to report all problems found in the field.Ability to use load height measuring sticks.Education and Experience:
High School diploma. Five years of Fiber optic plant construction or similar experience.$65,000 - $65,000 a year
