Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a

Specialist Corrosion II

with 3+ years' experience in pipeline and tank corrosion control in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!

Role Summary:Manage the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of the Company corrosion control programs.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:Ensure adequate levels of cathodic protection for the pipelines, tanks and related facilities within the District. Maintain the cathodic protection database for line sections within the District. Analyze this data to determine if there are any concerns or problems. Direct field personnel to conduct follow-up testing to verify his data, when necessary. Identify areas requiring remediation. Determine if any specialized tests are required to maintain adequate levels of cathodic protection for the pipelines and related facilities, and conduct these higher level tests.

Develop and implement plans for remedial work including material purchases, resources, and equipment requirements, and schedule and oversee the installation. Track and forecast costs.

Supervise Non-Destructive testing for "third Party" damage to pipeline facilities.

Assist in developing corrosion control training programs and train field personnel in the proper techniques used to measure cathodic protection potentials. This includes classroom and hands-on field training required to qualify personnel.

Develop and recommend changes to the Buckeye Corrosion Control policies and procedures.

When required, perform construction management of work associated with: capital projects, enhancements to existing facilities and accommodations.

Represent Buckeye Pipe Line Company at State/City/Area Corrosion Coordinating Committees and local NACE International sections.

Supervise "Outside Services" contractors performing corrosion control work. This includes regular annual surveys, close interval surveys, rectifier/groundbed installations, shorted casing remediation, etc.

Support District Work Team objectives and immediate needs.

Propose, prioritize and justify projects for Corrosion Control.

System-wide responsibility for corrosion control compliance with Company policy and governmental regulations.

Review corrosion control data and integrate with other Pipeline and Tank Integrity Programs.

Provide expertise on technical matters regarding corrosion control measures for Asset Integrity Team and corrosion control personnel.

Manage and maintain Buckeye's corrosion control record keeping systems.

Develop Company policy and procedures for corrosion control and represent Company on regulatory audits.

Develop and direct the long-term, asset maintenance work plan for corrosion control.

Develop budgets for Company-wide corrosion control programs.

Provide training/development/evaluation for Asset Team corrosion control personnel.

Design corrosion control systems for facility expansions, rehabilitations and for new facilities (pipelines, stations, and terminals).

Maintain professional knowledge and expertise in an environment of rapidly changing technology.

And other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:3+ years' experience in pipeline corrosion control required.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office and familiarity with commercial Corrosion Control databases required.

Familiarity with commercial Corrosion Control databases required.

Up to 25% Travel Required.

Certificates & Licenses:NACE Certification - CP Tester (CP-1) and/or CP Technician (CP-2) or Corrosion Technician and/or Corrosion Technologist.

CP-2, CP-3, Costings in Conjunction with CP, Internal Corrosion for Pipelines - Basic, CIP Level 1.

AUCSC intermediate or Purdue Intermediate.

Corrosion Specialist certification helpful.

PE/EIT registration desirable.

Valid driver's license.

Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:In order to be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with others to provide technical assistance. The individual must be a well-organized project manager with the ability to monitor and direct the work of contractors and evaluate their performance.

Regular travel to field locations for required testing, observation, consultation and training.

Must be able to climb tank stairways, enter tanks through manways, walk pipeline right-of-way in all terrain and withstand extreme weather conditions in both summer and winter.

The Specialist Corrosion II should be readily available to provide technical assistance during responses to pipeline releases or other emergencies.

Essential Functions:This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.

This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.

Physical & Safety Requirements:This role is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

The employee is frequently required to effectively communicate with others.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the ability to work comfortably and safely in the proximity to open water.
