Bear Den Technology is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and contractors. The Safety Program Lead will play a crucial role in maintaining our safety standards and ensuring the success of our projects at Pax River, MD.

Job Duties:

Lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs across multiple projects to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Provide expert guidance on safety protocols, risk assessments, and hazard control measures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.

Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring that all personnel are fully aware of safety procedures and regulations.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.

Review and approve safety plans, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Prepare and present high-level safety briefings and reports to senior leadership, highlighting key safety metrics, trends, and recommendations for improvement.

Lead safety committees and serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters within the organization.

Certifications, Licenses, Physical Requirements, or Other Expertise Required:

A minimum of five years of specialized experience in safety program management, preferably in the construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.

Experience in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs for large-scale projects.

Proven ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is highly desirable.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise safety briefings to senior leadership.

Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior safety professionals.

General Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

Five or more years of experience leading safety programs in a complex project environment, with demonstrated expertise in safety plan development and implementation.

Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety codes and regulations.

Ability to utilize safety management software and tools for tracking and reporting safety metrics.

Experience in conducting safety training sessions and workshops for diverse audiences.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple safety initiatives simultaneously.

Ability to prepare and provide high-level safety briefs to senior leadership. Oral and written communication skills must be highly developed.
