The Assistant Director of Development will serve as the Development Operations Manager for the Steve Hicks School of Social Work Development Team. This important role will be the first line for donor & faculty staff development inquiries. They will build & support centralized stewardship systems for the Steve Hicks School of Social Work under the direction of the Executive Director of Development. This trusted individual will take the lead planning donor-related events and in creating and executing sound office systems that support a first-class, donor-centered development operation.Responsibilities:Constituent relations, donor stewardship, fundraising and communications:Take the lead as first line for donor inquiries and faculty/staff requests for the SHSSW Development office, displaying an attitude of service with all constituents.Suggest, create and implement strategic and thoughtful donor stewardship programs that will convey appreciation for our donor's generosity and show the impact of their philanthropy.Compose and prepare donor-centered correspondence, including thoughtful gift acknowledgement letters & emails. Assist with preparing reports, meeting agendas, contact reports for events, and follow-up materials as requested.Manage our annual Student Thank You letters project, including partnering with Executive Director on presentations to student scholarship recipients.Act as a liaison to the Texas Development Annual Giving program, assuming a lead role in annual giving projects.With Executive Director, lead our Philanthropy Education Program student group.Work with Executive Director and Director of Marketing and Communications by monitoring and assisting with updates for the SHSSW website.Event planning and logistics:Lead the planning and management of donor and prospect engagement & stewardship events.Assist with Advisory Council activities.Arrange meetings, contact proposed attendees, prepare handouts, and all other necessary logistical details.Donor research and management:Maintain current donor information in the VIP system and provide administrative support to the Executive Director for donor-related tasks.Research and identify prospective donors.Design and implement systems based on data and analytics for maintaining detailed internal records.Financial and administrative tasks:Process charitable donations and pledges to the school.Provide administrative support to the Executive Director.Assume responsibility for essential office management functions.Work with our university Endowment Services Team.Coordinate annual Faculty Letters project.Train student Graduate Assistants on tasks to support the Development Team.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience in project management, nonprofit or higher education advancement/development.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal).Event planning & management.Strong service orientation.Proactive, self-starter that anticipates needs.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.Strong MS Office skills.Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn tools such as ThankView, Adobe.Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.Exceptional organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of administrative assistance experience.Experience with VIP database and DEFINE.Working knowledge of UT Austin's policies and procedures.Salary Range:

$65,000 (+ depending on experience)Working Conditions:

Typical office environment. This position is located in Austin, Texas.Work Shift:

Monday - Friday.
