What You Will Do:

Conduct business development to secure new clients and projects.

Retain and manage relationships with existing clients and external stakeholders across a range of businesses.

Respond to RFPs and build teams internally and with partner firms.

Work independently to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex projects, of varying size, on time sensitive schedules. This includes managing multiple projects and teams.

Create the connections to move people and goods –by car, bus, train, bicycle, or foot – within the context of rural, suburban, and urban settings.

Solve complex transportation problems using sound professional judgement, creativity, and innovation.

Apply transportation methods, planning principles, and standard industry evaluations and analyses for transportation planning projects.

Participate in the development and implementation of stakeholder, agency, and partner engagement and communication strategies with our communications specialists.

Prepare work deliverables such as reports, memos, and technical analyses; content for engagement and communications; visions and goals, policies; implementation and phasing plans; and other client-identified items.

Mentor and train younger staff.

What You Will Bring:

A bachelor’s degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited program.

AICP certification and/or a Minnesota PE license (or an ability to obtain one within 6 months).

Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

At least 10 years of experience in multimodal transportation planning/urban design field.

Strong, sophisticated writing skills and excellent public presence in front of small groups and large audiences.

Leadership skills as part of a team.

Experience in building rapport and trust with key clients, business leaders, and team members.

Experience developing, negotiating, and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Our preferred candidate will have:

A master’s degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited program.
