DescriptionThe Senior Manager, Environmental Compliance will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing company compliance policies and procedures related to renewable fuels sales and operations. This role will also provide guidance on regulatory and voluntary-related matters, manage relevant registrations, and prepare and submit reports for renewable fuels and associated credits, as well as for sustainability solutions and services.ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Regulatory CreditsCreate internal guidelines and process documents to educate and ensure all Mansfield entities adhere to renewable fuel regulatory requirements.Perform transactional transfers and required reporting for all applicable regulatory programs:

Federal renewable fuels standard (e.g., EPA RFS)State-level clean fuels (e.g., CA-LCFS, OR-CFP, WA-CFS)City-level renewable fuel standards (e.g., City of Portland RFS)

Collaborate with Supply and others to inform credit values for accurate invoicingAttend all public information sessions and stay abreast of evolving requirementsEnvironmental Voluntary CreditsOversee the monitoring, reporting, and verification of Mansfield's Renewable Diesel carbon reduction (book-and-claim) programManage GHG attribute inventory integrityTrack Proof of Sustainability documentation against physical RD deliveriesWork with third-party to complete regular auditing and assuranceProvide program oversight for Mansfield's third-party voluntary carbon offset solutions, ensuring documentation traceability and credibilityCustomer Scope EmissionsDevelop process and methodology to calculate customer scope 3 emissions

Inform Microsoft Sustainability Manager enhancements/co-create with Microsoft teamLeverage Samsara and other telematics data as neededCollaborate with Carrier Relations to expand carrier scorecard to include sustainability metrics

Report Scope 1 & Scope 3 on monthly/quarterly/annual cycles as required by customerCorporate Sustainability ReportingTrack and audit emissions data for Mansfield sustainability reporting (MEC wide)Coordinate with multiple internal stakeholders to acquire necessary data in a consistent mannerAssist in the drafting of Mansfield's annual corporate sustainability reportPerform federal and state-level climate-disclosure reporting as required (e.g., California SB 253 & SB 261)Ad-hoc special projects upon requestPosition RequirementsFormal Education & CertificationBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sustainability, Marketing, Environmental Science, or other relevant field of study preferredKnowledge & ExperienceEight (8+) years of energy experience across fossil and renewable fuels.Excellent understanding of sustainability incentive and regulatory structures. Ability to analyze and take advantage of new and existing mechanisms to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.Expertise in the application of US & Canadian environmental regulations and broad understanding of international regulatory requirements.Expertise and experience on the policies, methods and/or approaches for measuring and mitigating GHG emissions.Broad knowledge of refining process and renewable feedstock processing a plus.Understands the carbon emissions value chain from carbon emissions measurement to management and reporting.Strong project management skills, including experience with appropriate software tools.Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver meaningful business results with minimal supervision.Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with good aptitude for technology.Subject matter expertise preferred: Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), and Oregon Clean Fuels Program (CFP), Renewable Natural Gas/Electric Vehicles, Renewable Diesel, and Cellulosic Ethanol.Qualifications & CharacteristicsStrong written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.Ability to work well across departments and functional areas.Ability to learn, digest, and organize information quickly and accurately.High degree of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to balance daily, urgent responsibilities with longer-term, large scope projects.Creative problem solver who can thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Strong organizational, team building and people skills; the ability to work and navigate within a complex organization.Work EnvironmentPotential for remote, hybrid or on-site work.Business travel up to 25% to attend industry conferences, business meetings.Sitting for extended periods of time.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components.
