Posted Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 10:00 AMThis job manages our fleet of Class A Tractors/Trailers to ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA.While we would prefer this job to be based out of Buena Park, we are open to candidates in the Inland Empire if they are willing to drive one day a week to Buena Park.Job SummaryWe currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Fleet Maintenance Manager for our Class A tractors/trailers. The Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring all fleet vehicles and equipment are documented, titled, and accurately registered. The Fleet Manager is responsible for operating the safest and most cost-effective fleet in the industry while meeting all State and Federal laws and regulations.Travel to our Phoenix locations will be required (up to 10% of position).Position ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of lease and loan packages and complete required vehicle documentation.Maintain accurate records of vehicle inventory, maintenance, and repairs.Analyze all maintenance and fueling costs to control expenditures and stay within planned budgets.Assist the Safety Department with investigation of transportation accidents. Evaluate repair quotes and follow up to ensure repairs are completed appropriately and expeditiously.Install equipment such as cameras, e-logs, etc. Ensure the tractor is compliant as soon as possible. Uninstall all company equipment prior to returning the tractor.Conduct regular vehicle and equipment inspections.Coordinate maintenance and repair schedules for all vehicles and authorize associated costs.Secure bids on new equipment purchases and assist with equipment specifications. Evaluate vendors on their quality and pricing. Make recommendations as needed.Always keep our fleet DOT inspection ready. Oversee all DOT, FMCSA, CHP, and Arizona authority compliance by ensuring fleet registrations, licenses, and other regulatory reports/filings are completed on time.Assist with the rolling out and executing safety initiatives related to equipment. Assist with Driver Training as it relates to safety and proper care/use of equipment and vehicles.Provide weekly, monthly, and other reports as needed and requested.Provide a cost analysis on aged equipment and provide a recommendation as to whether the assets should be sold or repaired.Promote good customer service relations through resolving issues timely and effectively, and in a professional manner.Position Requirements5+ years of proven transportation fleet management/leadership experience working in transportation services involving Class A vehicles, 3PL, consumer packaged goods or food distribution, common carrier freight operations or company-owned fleet operations.5+ years’ experience working with Class A tractors and 48’ – 53’ trailers.Proven ability to analyze the fleet to determine if the asset should be leased, purchased, or sold.Ability to analyze repair costs and experience working with multiple vendors to obtain quotes.Class A license strongly preferred.Extensive knowledge of FMCSA, DOT regulations and California CARB compliance to ensure regulation standards are met.Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.Proficient in transportation management systems, on-board computer and camera systems, and other related logistics software and equipment.Ability to collect, sort, and analyze data using Microsoft Excel.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Teams.Experience working within a Truck Management System (TMS).Familiarity with Google Docs, Smart Sheets, and Crystal Reports.Displays the values and ethics reflective of the organization.Company OverviewWe are a third-party logistics company (3PL) specializing in all aspects of supply chain management with operations in Southern California and Phoenix, Arizona.
