The Assistant Director of International and Graduate Programs at Notre Dame Law School contributes to the dynamic and growing international initiatives within the School. The position will report to the Director of International & Graduate Programs and will administer and support the work of the unit, with particular attention to student programs.

The successful applicant will have a dedication to students and passion for international work. They will join an engaged team that is committed to excellence, to developing its members, and to enriching the international connections at Notre Dame Law School.

The duties for this position include:

Manage and provide staff support for all graduate programs at the Law School

(LLM & JSD programs) from the recruitment process to post-graduate opportunities. Accomplish this and the support of the other graduate programs through appropriate consultation and collaboration with other offices, including the faculty directors, JD student services, Law admissions, academic services (registrar), career services, and wellness consultants. Direct students to appropriate resources and serve as a first-point of contact for inquiries. Coordinate orientation and international pre-orientation programming with JD student services and faculty program directors. Support reporting of thesis and dissertation research grades from faculty advisors to the registrar. Foster community among these students through supporting the development of special events (Friendsgiving, annual celebrations) as appropriate, with support from the events team and the administrative assistant for international and graduate programs. This will also include collaboration with London staff on administration of the London-based LLM program.

Provide support to international students , in consultation with the Director of International and Graduate Programs, including incoming exchange law students and international JD students, as well as special student visitors.

Support for outbound international student programs.

Provide support for advising on outgoing exchange programs, in coordination with the Director of International and Graduate Programs. Provide logistical support for pre-departure programming for Summer Honors Scholars students. Support travel registry compliance in consultation with Notre Dame International and faculty trip leaders.

Teamwork & other tasks as assigned . Support special projects, consistent with the nature of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree

3-4 years of experience

Compassionate listener

Problem solver

Excellent communicator

Committed to the mission of the Law School and the International & Graduate Programs office

Preferred Qualifications:

Student advising or student program administration experience strongly preferred

Some experience with international work and/or with law strongly recommended

JD or LLM degree would be preferred
