Job Details
Responsible for the management of supplier contracts, annual cost downs, inventory values associated with preproduction programs. Also responsible for supplier cost reduction opportunities and overall supplier cost reduction strategy and managing all buyers and purchasing related staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong negotiation skills on component pricing, with proven results
Responsible for the timely completion of all RFQ's for preproduction programs
Responsible for all initial purchases of raw material for preproduction programs
Responsible for all indirect material purchases and services
Assist with plant issues on preproduction programs
Establish cost recovery and cost reduction metrics with suppliers
Establish measurement systems and provide reports needed by division and plant management
Interface with suppliers on payment issues both debit and credit and effect resolution
Continuously improve supplier credit lines and payment terms with suppliers
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Accounting with cash flow management
Assist Engineering with alternative sources of supply
Assist Quality with supplier related issues
Assist Manufacturing plants with supplier related issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience in Purchasing, MRP and Management a must. Manufacturing, Automotive and wiring assembly a plus.
Bachelor's degree required
Strong people management skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient in verbal and written communication - English. Spanish and Mandarin a plus.
Ability to travel globally.
