Overview

In this position, you will work closely with clients to establish solutions to make them successful, broaden the effect of GIS technology to their business, and help shape the evolution of the platform by identifying new implementation patterns. You will provide vision and thought leadership while promoting the use of Esri technology to enable customer success and support its development and growth into new domains by working closely with industry experts throughout the company.

Responsibilities

Be a thought leader.

Help foster a sense of community among industry leaders. Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.

Understand our customers and know their business.

Be familiar with the mission and operations of our customers including knowledge of common goals and initiatives, procurement cycles, and business processes. Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions.

Enable our customers to be successful.

Work closely with customers to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform. Provide configuration guidance and best practices to customers and understand how Esri’s technology enables the customer’s stated vision. Collaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri’s technology.

Develop and grow business.

Collaborate with Esri’s practice managers and marketing and sales teams to support business development for technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Identify the value of location within customer workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in Esri's enterprise technology and services by creating outstanding proposals and winning work with strategic customers. Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of technical and non-technical staff in a diverse range of customer organizations.

Requirements

5+ years experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities

Experience in optimization, heuristic methods practice, or transit/movement analysis in the people movement or logistics space

Demonstrable ability to evaluate and translate a customer’s business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical plans and solutions

Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical project managers or customers

Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication, multi-tasking, and presentation skills

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Bachelor’s in engineering, operations research, logistics; or a degree in GIS, computer science, or a STEM related field with focus on optimization

Recommended Qualifications

Master's in computer science, engineering, operations research, logistics, GIS, or STEM related field

Strong interest in spatially modeling physical and operational systems for the purpose of optimizing those systems

Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Runtime and their associated APIs or interfaces
