The Materials and Process Engineering (M&PE) Department, which functions within the Mechanical Engineering Discipline team, is seeking an individual with technical expertise in Thin Film Coating technology in our Advanced Materials section. Responsibilities to anticipate include working closely with program managers to develop new coatings that meet and exceed program needs. The candidate will be expected to present his work at Program Reviews to management as well as at internal and external conferences.
The Senior Principal Advance Materials - Coatings job is in Andover, MA and the position is onsite.
What You Will Do:
Oversight of CRADs, IRADs, projects and program support.
Perform individual contributor workload in the leader’s subject matter discipline.
Team with the Section Leader in the execution of Materials and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Discipline and Raytheon Engineering goals.
Provide oversight to ensure the accuracy of technical output of each assignment based on data and analyses.
Interface with other organizations across the Raytheon Enterprise.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Ceramics, Chemistry or Physics and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 14+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience.
Experience in depositing thin films by various physical vapor technologies such as DC and RF magnetron sputtering.
Experience in the characterization of thin films by optical, mechanical, and/or electrical methods.
Experience in materials characterization, or production engineering and/or competency with the use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
Experience in military applications and/or environments.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance after the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Ability to efficiently use MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Broad knowledge of materials science with ability to collaborate with SMEs.
Experience with proposal capture process (development of compliant basis of estimates (BOEs) and white-sheet development).
Expertise in vacuum technology.
Experience with Failure Review Boards and/or failure analysis.
Familiarity with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) Process.

Pay: $118,000.00 - $246,000.00 per year
