The Parish Facilities Assistant Manager supports and promotes initiatives and decisions that fulfill the mission and operations of the Parish. This role shares responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the physical plant and ensures the building and grounds are maintained to provide a high quality and safe environment for parishioners, students, faculty, staff, and visitors to our campus.Working with the Parish Facilities Manager, the Facilities Assistant Manager is responsible for the maintenance and proper performance of the key mechanical systems (HVAC, Lighting, fire, plumbing, and security).Responsibilities:Hands-on responsibility for maintenance and proper performance of the Campus’s primary mechanical systems (HVAC, alarm, and security systems), routine electrical and plumbing repairs.Manage and keep abreast of current trends and best practices for all aspects of facilities and property management, including pneumatics, HVAC design, energy and environmental practices, life safety codes (including OSHA), fire protection, disaster preparedness, elevators, and building structure integrity.Identify and escalate facilities issues with suggested solutions.Handle emergencies effectively and timely related to parish facilities and grounds.Ensure that maintenance logs are current, accurate, and address identifiable problems.Support policies and procedures for regulatory compliance mandated by all levels of government licensing and/or civic responsibilities. Assist in inspections related to the work.Perform sample maintenance tasks such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming floors. Remove trash from offices and all work areas. Clean restrooms and replenish supplies. Operate snow removal equipment.Conduct Emergency light/Fire Alarm System monthly testing and monthly pressure checks of fire extinguishers. Assist with routine HVAC maintenance and replace light bulbs and air filters when needed.Install computer cabling for desktop and wireless applications, or support outside vendors. Install projectors, smart boards, etc.Complete minor repairs in designated buildings, including electrical repair, plumbing maintenance, painting, minor carpentry, and tuckpointing.Perform preventative maintenance and setup/takedown of tables, chairs, and equipment for events.Participate in staff meetings and meetings related to facilities and grounds, including those not during regular work hours as needed.Communicate effectively and professionally with all with whom they interact.Other responsibilities as assigned.Requirements:

Possession of a high school diploma/GED paired with all current licenses as required by federal, state, and local regulations for this position.At least five (5) years of proven success in hands-on building maintenance.Professional knowledge, practical experience, and physical capacity to maintain essential equipment, including the supervision of contracted professionals who provide preventive or emergency services.Knowledge of current applicable NFPA fire codes, National Life Safety Code, OSHA regulations, and Hazardous waste protocol.Basic office and computer skills necessary to effectively use computerized control systems, monitor maintenance request systems, and execute online purchasing.Well-developed communication/interpersonal skills to collaborate professionally with others according to the mission and values of Saint Clement.A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record consistent with Archdiocese policies.Ability to operate other motorized equipment such as snowplows, lawn mowers, etc.Availability and willingness to fulfill the on-call, off-hour needs of the Church/School as the position requires.Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb to high and difficult places, and work at those places. Frequent bending, carrying, lifting, and stooping. Excellent hand-eye and mind-eye coordination.
