OverviewChristian Hospital

Northwest HealthCare , six miles west of Christian, offers 24-hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

The ICU at Christian Northeast is a 26 bed intensive care unit. We practice primary nursing and have 24 hour critical care physician coverage. The ICU RNs are ACLS certified and have received specialized critical care training. Our services include but are not limited to Pre/Post-op Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac, Neuro, Pulmonary, Renal, and Medical. The ICU nurses and critical care physicians are responsible for responding to emergency calls in all of the inpatient areas. Role PurposeUnder the direction of manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of assigned unit as needed.

Responsibilities

Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assess patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults to interprofessional team as appropriate.

Leads the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.

Actively utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence-based practices.

Analyzes gap in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care.
