:Position is for
Florida
Region.We are seeking Senior level Fire Protecting Engineering Consultants to provide services such as life safety code consulting, sprinkler/suppression system design, fire alarm system design and performance-based fire engineering both locally and nationally.
We are flexible with location of our engineering staff in all US regions.We are currently looking for a self-starter with a drive to assist in building a business in a new market (geographic or service) by establishing healthy client relationships through delivering quality services on time and on budget. Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members and across multiple business functional areas. A desire to be technically excellent and involved in local and national industry focus areas. Also must have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
:Engineering Functions:Design and evaluation of fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, smoke control systems, fire-rated separations, means of egress, fire/smoke and egress modeling and other fire life safety features in buildings and facilitiesClassification and evaluation of hazardous materialsBuilding code consulting and fire code consulting for the construction industry to work with and support our Summit Companies installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance teamsReport writing and documentationOn-site inspections and observations.Project and Growth FunctionsPrepare and manage project scope of services and budgetsManage resources and staff on individual projects, including assistance with job set-up, monitoring of profitability and billingsEstablish relationships with the authorities having jurisdiction to assist our customers in presenting fire protection approaches to the authorities and achieving the desired resultsParticipation in business development activities including development and tracking proposalsPresent Company qualifications to new and existing customers, with the intent of establishing clientele in the selected marketsParticipate in the establishment of a new consulting engineering offices and presence, including growth of new and existing clienteleCollaboration with Summit Fire National Consulting team on larger projects and national accountsAssist Summit fire protection contracting business by performing analyses, calculations, code and standard reviews and other functions in support of design/build opportunitiesAttendance at regional and national conferences to promote the capabilities of the Summit Companies, including the preparation and presentation of selected papers and speeches at these conferencesParticipation in industry and professional organizations.Requirements:Minimum of 8+ years of Fire Protection Consulting experience including code consulting, design of systems, and fire protection engineeringBachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Fire Protection Engineering, or Fire Protection Engineering TechnologyProfessional Engineering License, preferably in Fire Protection EngineeringExperienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to mentor and manage staffDemonstrated leadership capabilitiesDemonstrated capabilities in professional service business processes including preparing and managing project budgetsExperience with hydraulic calculations, fire and smoke simulation, egress and pedestrian movement models or suppression system design programs is a plusBluebeam, AutoCAD or REVIT experience is desirable.BenefitsSummit Fire Consulting
