Department of Anesthesia - Pain PsychologistThe UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care seeks a pain psychologist to join our faculty practice. This full-time faculty position is available at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.Pain psychology faculty will work at the UCSF Center for Pain Medicine, which operates under the auspices of the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care, Division of Pain Medicine.The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:Passion about caring for patients with complex chronic painExperience working in a multi-disciplinary environmentInterest in working in an educational environment, with physician and non-physician trainees as part of the care teamRecord of scholarship, such as demonstrated by published research, and interest in advancing the academic field of pain psychologyInterest in developing innovative new clinical care modelsResponsibilities will include but are not limited to intake evaluations, assessments on appropriateness for neuromodulation, individual psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy for patients with pain.Psychologists experienced in the treatment of adolescents and young adults with chronic pain are also encouraged to apply.The Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care faculty work as a part of a team emphasizing high quality, patient-centered care with a focus on evidence-based medicine.
