We're an independent consultancy and service provider, and we only ever work on renewable energy projects.Position OverviewThe Senior Renewable Energy Consultant will assist in providing renewable energy project reviews and technical due diligence to support the advisory team. The role will contribute to the technical review of renewable energy projects and portfolios for investors, financing parties, developers, and project owners.Status: Candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer.Location: This is a hybrid role based in Golden, CO, Seattle, WA, or Saratoga Springs, NY. Remote option available for qualified individuals and positions.Salary Range: $105,000-$165,000/year USDRoles and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for technical aspects of advisory project engagements with specific focus on electrical engineering and interconnection reviews.Review electrical design drawings for conformity to code compliance, industry best practices, and project requirements.Review the completed electrical design studies and confirm that all required studies have been prepared and the results are satisfactory based on interconnection requirements and project design.Review the technical interconnection requirements including necessary network upgrades and associated costs, potential curtailment, delivery requirements, interconnection terms and location, and conditions for termination for projects.Review electrical completion information (QA/QC documentation, testing plans and results, commissioning procedures and results, equipment testing reports, etc).Conduct site visits at wind, solar, and energy storage projects at various stages of development, construction, and operations.Contribute to writing and reviewing due diligence and independent engineering reports.Responsible for the on-time, on-quality and on-budget delivery of tasks assigned to you.Provide technical advice to clients and concisely communicate technical issues to them.Develop thought leadership material and present externally at conferences or through webinars.Provide leadership, guidance and training to direct reports and colleagues where relevant.This position may require up to 20% travel.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree from accredited university or college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, strong preference for focus on Power Systems.5+ years relevant consulting experience and/or experience in energy project electrical design, substation design, protection and controls, and interconnection.Desirable Qualifications and ExperienceAdvanced degree and Fundamentals of Engineering, EIT certification preferred. Professional Engineering, PE license is highly preferred.Experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in substation and collection system design review.Experience in renewable transmission planning and interconnection.Proven track record in consulting and technical due diligence with a solid understanding of the principles employed.Experience in development of renewable energy projects.Experience with travel and project site visits.Benefits100% employer paid health insurance for single/qualifying plans.100% employer paid vision & dental for single/qualifying plans.Employer sponsored HRA or HSA for eligible plans.401k - up to 4% employer match - Eligible at start and no vesting period.Starting at 3 weeks PTO time, plus 11 paid holidays and sick time.Our Work and CultureOur values are at the very heart of what we do every day.
