The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our steel manufacturing facility. This role includes managing staff, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high safety standards, and striving for continuous improvement in all areas of the plant's performance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leadership and Management

Provide strong leadership to plant staff, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Manage, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and production workers.Conduct performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.Production Management

Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure the most effective return on assets.Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports the company's strategic initiatives.Monitor production outputs, quality standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure goals are met.Safety and Compliance

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure staff adherence to safety protocols.Address any safety incidents or violations promptly and thoroughly.Quality Control

Collaborate with the quality control department to resolve any quality issues and implement corrective actions.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste.Financial Management

Manage the plant budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.Oversee procurement and inventory management to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and minimize downtime.Analyze production costs and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.Process Improvement

Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives to improve plant performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.Communication and Reporting

Maintain open and effective communication with senior management, providing regular updates on plant performance, challenges, and achievements.Prepare and present reports on production metrics, financial performance, and improvement initiatives.Foster a culture of transparency and collaboration within the plant and with other departments.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Plant Manager or similar role in the steel manufacturing industry.Strong knowledge of steel production processes, equipment, and safety standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience managing budgets and expenses.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Management retains the right to change this job description or add to the duties at any time.
