Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manages off shift operations team; oversees support other function personnel; materials, quality, maintenanceReduces lost and idle time, non-conformities and non-value-added processesEnsures operator emphasis on customer expectations, and effective product line communicationContinuous manufacturing process improvement resulting in reduced re-work and product scrapManagement of on-hand and work in process inventoriesCoordinate continuous improvement activities resulting in high quality and competitively priced productsDevelops subordinates and ensures consistency in personnel policy administrationAbility to manage and run departments by the number to ensure profitabilityEnsure effective utilization of assetsRequired Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Accounting, or related field preferred or equivalent education and/or experienceMinimum 3 years of experience leading a team of direct reportsMust have excellent organizational skills, must be able to lead teams and interact with all levels in the plantMust have proven planning, problem solving, interpersonal, and financial management skillsMust have a thorough knowledge of Benchmarking methods and must be able to think proactively to implement positive changeMust be a visionary with insight to enable sustained growth of the plant and its peoplePrevious experience in a union environment preferredThis is an overnight shift; must be willing and able to work the overnight shift as this position requiresComputer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
