Position OverviewSince 1873, social sorority and fraternity organizations have grown to become a vital part of the University of Kansas history and tradition. Today, the sorority and fraternity community represents over 40 organizations with more than 4,100 students committed to our core values: Academic Achievement, Civic & Community Engagement, Personal & Professional Development, and Holistic Wellness. Sorority and Fraternity Life (SFL) is an administrative unit of the University which provides support and advocacy for these organizations. The organizations are represented by four different governing councils: the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Panhellenic Association (PHA).The Senior Associate Director for External Relations in the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life is responsible for leading strategic initiatives to strengthen the sorority and fraternity community, resulting in a welcoming, engaged, and healthy community. The Senior Associate Director for External Relations holds primary responsibility on behalf of the university for cultivating relationships and communicating with national organizations, house corporations, advisors, and community groups. The Senior Associate Director for External Relations also serves as the primary liaison between the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life and university affiliates, including the KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association. The Senior Associate Director for External Relations is responsible for all communications strategies and supervises at least one full-time professional to support communications and external relations. The Senior Associate Director for External Relations reports to the Director of the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life.Student Affairs at the University of Kansas makes learning possible through programs and services designed to support students across their KU experience. Student Affairs includes seventeen departments which coordinate services designed to assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals. Student Affairs serves as an advocate for students across the University community.Responsibilities:External Relations (60%):Establish and maintain working relationships and collaborations with chapter advisors, (inter)national headquarters organizations, house corporations and directors, and other stakeholders.Maintain updated rosters for all external stakeholder audiences.Serve as a resource for students, families, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders on issues related to sorority and fraternity life.Serve as the campus expert on Sorority and Fraternity Life external partnerships.Coordinate the Alumni Advisory Council and the Alumni Executive Council in collaboration with university administrators.Coordinate university relationships with chapter house directors.Establish regular and ongoing training for chapter advisors, house corporation representatives, and house directors.Serve as the primary liaison to the KU Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.Serve as the initial point of contact for organizations wishing to establish new chapters and/or return to affiliated organization status.For full info follow application link.The University of Kansas prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, ancestry, disability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, gender identity, gender expression, and genetic information in the university's programs and activities.
