Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Chicago, IL; or Denver, COSummaryJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced Substation Project Manager with a strong background in leading substation projects and expertise in the full EPC lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction). This role will oversee complex, large-scale data center construction projects from initiation to completion, with a focus on substation infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, deep technical knowledge as it relates to data center construction, and the ability to drive successful project outcomes. This role interacts with many departments and contractors including operations, designers, engineers, procurement, sales, vendors and consultants.

Key Responsibilities:Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of substation and data center construction projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, safety, timelines, and budgets.Oversee and manage all phases of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), coordinating between internal teams and external contractors and design consultants to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.Collaborate with engineering teams to review and refine design plans for substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.Manage procurement of materials and equipment, working closely with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.Drive results across design, pre-construction, and construction activities including site management, subcontractor coordination, and on-site inspections to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.Manage multiple projects at a time and maintain updated budgets, schedules, and status reports for each.Lead cross-functional teams, including internal departments and external consultants, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.Monitor project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, and provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.Ensure all necessary permits and regulatory approvals are obtained, and the project complies with local, state, and federal regulations.Proactively identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or budget overruns.Travel up to 50% of the time.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).7+ years of experience in construction project management.3+ years of managing substation projects.Strong knowledge of EPC processes, with a proven track record in leading projects through the engineering, procurement, and construction phases.In-depth understanding of substation design, construction techniques, and industry best practices.Experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams, including contractors, engineers, and consultants.Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Procore, Asana, etc.).Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop strategic mitigation plans.Benefits:Competitive salary and performance bonus program.401k fully vested upon enrollment, up to a 4% employer match.100% employee premiums paid by employer for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability.Paid Time Off + Sick time.Prime is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
