Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an opportunity for a

Senior Project Manager

to join our Nashville office to

support our water and wastewater business and client connections . In collaboration with the Area Leader, other Project Managers, Technical Service Leaders, Client Service Managers, and the Marketing Manager, you will maintain and develop client relationships, connect BC solutions to client needs, lead project teams in quality project delivery, and guide procurement stages leading to new opportunities.

Detailed Description:

Serve as project manager or senior technical resource for key clients. Manage multi-disciplinary resources to deliver projects on schedule and budget and according to client critical success factors.

Manage and execute work on water and wastewater facilities including comprehensive planning, preliminary design and final design projects.

Lead project team in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies.

Provide consultation in specialized areas (wastewater treatment, water treatment, facility planning infrastructure, and construction management), make decisions and solve problems.

Prepare and make presentations to clients for professional meetings.

Successfully manage and deliver projects on time and on budget.

Utilize internal project management tools and resources.

Develop high-value client relationships, while representing BC with key clients and teaming partners.

Engage client service teams to support understanding and delivering on client needs and expectations.

Ensure quality client services, clarity on work products, and delivery of high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.

Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency.

Supervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers.

Participate in BC’s QA/QC process.

Utilize internal systems for communication, tracking and collaboration on projects and opportunities.

Support development of staff members, especially as it relates to exceptional client service delivery, strategic planning, and effective communication.

Meet identified performance metrics including project budgets and schedules.

Leverage resources, experience and skills of the firm to support project and client goals.

Participate in professional societies, creating connections for BC and technical professionals in support of client goals.

Desired Skills and Experience:

B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.) required; M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water services preferred.

Professional Engineer registration in the State of Tennessee or ability to obtain via reciprocity within six months.

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in consulting and engineering services in the environmental sector with progressive responsibilities including project delivery especially for water and wastewater municipal clients.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred but not required.

Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience.

The ability to successfully deliver projects in a collaborative fashion and interface with Brown and Caldwell’s local, regional, and national wastewater practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, lead strong project teams meeting project requirements, and provide strong business growth results in management roles.

Proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.

Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources.

Proven technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to motivate others and lead teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuits.

Ability and willingness to travel to and support our ongoing projects in Memphis and Chattanooga.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $141,000 - $193,000
