OMS Field Services is looking for an Associate Safety Specialist to work in our clients Vegetation Management program. Under direct guidance of supervisor or senior peers, Assoc. Safety Specialist will perform initial and subsequent safety observations of activities relevant to Vegetation Management operations and skills in an area of technical/safety knowledge and procedures. Business conduct must occur in accordance with OMS policies and procedures and be aligned with the goals of OMS.

Essential Functions:

Under direct guidance, documents and communicates results to first line supervision, using standardized templates and forms.Under direct guidance, provides coaching report and feedback to participants upon completion of the observations.Under direct guidance, may provide recommendations and input to improve observed at risk safety activities utilizing coaching tools and processes.Other duties as assigned by OMS or the client.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GEDAny technical or continued education in related field (Forestry, Utility Vegetation Management and/or Logging)CPR / First AidOSHA 30 Hour CertificationRequired to maintain a Class C driver’s license, including participating in Employer Pull Notice Program (EPN), with DMV.Conduct a background check, drug screening, and health examApproval by Client RepresentativePreferred:

10 years job-related experience (i.e., Utility Tree Crew).Certified Utility Safety Professional (CSP) certification.Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification.Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.Working Conditions:

Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor conditions; exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on/walk on slippery or uneven and potentially mountainous terrain. Noise level is usually moderate.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
