The Position:Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis Campus is seeking a Coordinator for Upward Bound, a Federal TRiO program at Ivy Tech Indianapolis. The Upward Bound Program focuses on Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. The Assistant Director of Upward Bound is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and supervising the Upward Bound curriculum, summer academy, and other facets of the grant. The Assistant Director will report to the Director of Upward Bound. This is a five (5) year grant program currently in year three (3).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitates the development and implementation of all aspects of the UB grant, such as Summer Academy.Contributes to the generation long and short-range strategies to effectively serve the needs of high school students.Creates student files for case management and develops IAPs in conjunction with students, parents, and high school personnel.Fosters internal and external relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, and students with the college, affiliated high schools, and community partners.Maintains program data and tracks program goals and objectives.The above is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in a related field (education, leadership, math, science, business) and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent (Master's and two years of experience).Experience working in higher education and high school-age youth.Demonstrated ability to coordinate, implement, and evaluate program(s).Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.Good public relations skills and self-motivation required.Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

STARTING SALARY RANGE:

$44,000 - $52,000/annuallyCLASSIFICATION:
