We strive to strengthen the bond between people and our pets so that we both live longer, healthier, and happier lives while being kind to the planet.What You Will DoThe Indirect Procurement Category Manager, CapEx will work with key stakeholders to develop and execute CapEx procurement strategies and global contracts in alignment with project objectives. You will interface with project leads and engineering to carry out all procurement activity from RFQ to supplier selection and implementing robust contracts.How You Will Make An ImpactAct as Procurement liaison with Engineering Project Manager, Engineering, and all stakeholdersDevelop & foster relationships with major suppliers in the marketplaceUnderstand and stay abreast of macroeconomic, regulatory, and capacity trends which could impact the business. Take action to manage risk and harness opportunityLeverage procurement best practices to develop and implement strategies in alignment with business and project objectivesDemonstrate leadership, engagement, and partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and collaborate on solutionsDevelop detailed project plans, project scopes, and project objectives based on specifications and feedback from key stakeholdersRun large scale Requests for Quote (RFQ) following through to full supplier selection and evaluationLead the development, negotiation, and implementation of contract agreements with suppliers including Freshpet legal, if neededEvaluate risks, negotiate services, prices, and terms of contracts, and recommend purchases to obtain the best possible value while adhering to quality of work, specifications, and business requirementsUnderstand changes to business capital forecasts, project objectives, and translate its impact to procurement activitiesResponsible for ensuring purchased equipment meets/exceeds contractual obligations, and any pertaining industry standards or customer requirementsSupport stakeholders on supplier relationship management initiatives to drive delivery of best-in-class performance and innovative products and servicesCollaborate with stakeholders on dispute resolution and continuous improvement processesDevelop and drive Procurement key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with the project team and objectivesResearch new equipment/tooling suppliers and tooling conceptsWhat You Will BringBachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or equivalent experienceLarge Capital project experience required (>$50MM)8+ years of experience working in a similar roleComplex supplier sourcing experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing short term vs long term needsAbility to effectively interact with and influence people at all levels and varied cultures within and outside of FreshpetExtensive negotiation, project management, conflict management, and problem-solving skillsStrong sense of urgency and attention to detailUnderstand the current capital project process and initiate capital procurement best practices, policies, and proceduresAbility to take full responsibility for decisions and results even when all elements are not under individual direct controlQuickly develop an understanding of business technology and equipment to identify leveraging opportunities across multiple projectsExtremely high standards of excellence and quality-oriented mindset10-20% travel between Freshpet locations (PA, NJ, TX, AR) and visits to suppliersWhat We OfferAt Freshpet, we offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, basic and optional life insurance, short- and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, pet insurance, tuition assistance, a generous PTO plan and so much more!Our Commitment to a Diverse Workforce:At Freshpet, we embrace and encourage our employees’ differences.
