The post holder will be expected to join the existing team of Paediatric Consultant Hepatologists and share the responsibilities including 1 in 7 on call for paediatric hepatology. There will be 10 PAs which include full commitment to the on call rota. The post holder will join the rolling rota of inpatient, day case, outpatient and liaison with Clinical Nurse Practitioner for shared care, and contribute to the management of portal hypertension.Main duties of the job

The post is to back fill due to a vacancy arisen due to a sabbatical engagement by a substantial member of our staff. The post holder will work with the team to provide Intestinal transplant service in addition to general hepatology and portal hypertension on call cover.The post will be based at King’s College Hospital and the proposed Job Plan is attached. There will be an average of 8.5 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with the remainder being allocated for Supporting Professional activities related to professional revalidation. The On-Call commitment is for a 1:7 rota which is classed as Category A. The post will contribute to the portal hypertension on call rota.As a senior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients.Working for our organisation

Qualifications

MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalentHold CCT or equivalent in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and Nutrition or equivalent non UK training qualification; or alternatively will obtain within 6 months of interview date. Name to be on Specialist Register on date of taking up appointmentOther higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD)Training and Experience

CCT or equivalent in Paediatric Gastroenterology / hepatologyWide experience in all aspects of paediatrics culminating in award of CCT or equivalent in paediatricsTraining and experience in hepatology and transplantationLaboratory ExperienceAudit, Research and Publications

Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit.
